With over four decades of professional experience Charles was a VP and Studio Leader for an international design firm for the eight years prior to forming his own consultancy in 2008. His role involved business development/ marketing, winning high quality projects, building/maintaining client relationships, leadership of project teams to achieve design excellence and sustainability for projects such as: the private and public workplace, strategic programming/planning, interior architecture/FF&E, mixed-use and urban design/ master planning. During that time, Charles also developed and implemented an initiative that created a stand-alone Interiors Studio to not only service all the firm's Southwest market sector needs, but also pursue its own projects and those with other architects.


In the area of Thought Leadership, he was embedded in a National Practice Group focused on the specialties of his Market Sector, both architecture and interiors, that conducted research, developed case studies and presentations, shared knowledge, staff skills and strategic initiatives across the firm’s many regions.


Throughout his career he has served in various roles as Principal-in-Charge, Project Director or Project Manager on major projects, internationally, nationally or regionally recognized through awards and publications. Early in his career he was principal of his own firm for seven years. It consisted of 12 persons and focused on small to medium scale architecture, as well as interiors/FFE projects.


Charles has been an Instructor of Architecture at university level, served as a staff columnist for a business magazine and a weekly regional newspaper covering architecture and real estate issues. As a member of various professional organizations, his community service has also included participation with non-profit business and arts organizations. The breadth of his portfolio includes corporate headquarters, public/private administration and developer-driven office facilities, re-positioning and adaptive re-use, as well as other special use projects, such as TOD, courts, museums, financial, and hospitality.


His current role is a management position with ARQUITECTONICA INTL CORP as a Vice President including projects such as: One Brickell City Centre, a super-tall mixed use TOD project in the Brickell District of Miami. MSC Cruise Lines Terminal Port of Miami, Oceana-The Pearl Condo New Orleans, University Bridge Multi-Family, Miami Beach 72nd ST Community Center, Highland Park Medical District Mixed-Use, SEFC Plaza, Terra-Upland Park Mixed-Use & other large-scale developments in Florida and Louisiana.
